Can the SteamCloud Mini 2.0 be used with wax or dry herb cartridges? The SteamCloud Mini 2.0 is most popular with the skinny, 510 oil cartridges. But it also comes with a 510 wax atomizer, so it can easily be used to vaporize both oil and wax. It essentially fits any skinny 510 thread cartridges and features variable voltages, so while it could be used with herb as well, skinny, 510 herb cartridges are rare and better herb vaping options exist.
Are there different temperature settings on the SteamCloud Mini 2.0? Yes, this vaporizer has three variable voltage settings allowing you to customize your vaporizing experience. Simply press the power button three times quickly in a row to switch between temperatures: green for 3.4V, blue for 3.7V, and red for 4.0V.
Can I use the SteamCloud Mini 2.0 with any oil cartridge? This vape is designed to fit skinny 510 thread cartridges. This is the industry standard for pre-filled cartridges but there are some manufacturers that make thicker cartridges that may not fit in this vape. If you are switching to a new oil producer, it is best to bring your SteamCloud Mini 2.0 into the shop before purchasing a new cartridge.
How do I use the preheat function? One of the best features of this vape is its preheat function. Eventually, you will get nice vapor from most vape batteries, but it is often weak when you first connect a cold cartridge and a pain to get the oil to heat up. Press the power button twice consecutively on the SteamCloud Mini 2.0 to activate the preheat function. This starts a 15 second low-temperature preheat so your first rip produces a nice, smooth, thick vapor.
This portable vape will come with a charge and ready to use out of the box. However, when needed, charge the vape pen battery with the included usb cable.
Using the SteamCloud Mini 2.0 for Oil:
Connect a skinny 510 thread cartridge to one of the included magnetic adapters. Pop the cartridge directly into the SteamCloud Mini 2.0. You will feel the magnet holding the cartridge in place. Just give it a little shake to make sure it is secure. Turn on the SteamCloud Mini 2.0 by pressing the power button five times quickly. To change the voltage, press the power button three times quickly. It will flash green for 3.4V, blue for 3.7V, and red for 4.0V. After setting the voltage, press the power button twice to activate the preheat function. This step is not necessary but it will provide a better vapor quality at the beginning of your session. Hold the power button down and take long, smooth pulls from the vape for the best vapor production.
Using the SteamCloud Mini 2.0 for Wax:
Connect the included wax atomizer to a magnetic connector. Drop a dab of wax the size of a grain of rice onto the quartz coil using a dab tool and close the atomizer. Drop the cartridge/atomizer into the SteamCloud Mini 2.0. Press the power button five times in a row to turn the vaporizer on. To change the voltage, press the power button three times quickly. It will flash green for 3.4V, blue for 3.7V, and red for 4.0V. Hold the power button down to heat the coil. You can start to inhale immediately or wait a second or two to ‘cook’ the wax before inhaling.
To charge the SteamCloud Mini 2.0, first plug the micro-USB cable into a power source like a computer or wall charger and plug the other end into the SteamCloud Mini. If you can’t find the charging cable, you can use any micro-USB (Android) charger. Once properly plugged in to charge, the red light indicator will turn on. Leave it to charge for about 1-2 hours for a full charge - the light will shut off once the vape is fully charged. Once charged, disconnect the USB cable and insert a cartridge to begin vaping. You can also leave a cartridge in the vape while charging.
Vaporizers can be confusing to get working properly sometimes. As well, they can have problems and most oil vapes have a shorter lifespan than dry herb vaporizers. Here we will go over some common issues and how to fix them.
The vape stopped working - If you have been using the SteamCloud Mini 2.0 for a while, it is possible that the battery is dead. This battery will last longer than the standard vape pen batteries but it will not last forever. Another possibility is there is a problem with your USB charger. Always try charging with an alternative charger first - you can use any micro-USB cable. The last option is that the atomizer in your pre-filled cartridge died before you finished the cartridge. Unfortunately, this happens from time to time. Try using the SteamCloud Mini 2.0 with a new cartridge before considering it dead.
My Vape Does Not Work – If you have attached an oil cartridge to the magnetic adapter, popped it in place and nothing happens when you hold the power button and take a pull, you might not have a great connection. Make sure that the magnetic adapter is screwed on tightly. Then give the SteamCloud a light shake to make sure the cartridge is secure. ALSO, make sure a magnetic adapter or something else did not fall into the cartridge slot – something could be blocking the connection between the vape battery and cartridge. Finally, make sure the battery has a full charge.
The vapors are too light – The SteamCloud Mini 2.0 has variable voltage settings which you can use to adjust the heaviness of the vapor. We always recommend starting on the lowest setting (green/3.4V) but if this vapor is too thin, press the power button three times quickly. It will flash blue for medium (3.7V) and red for high (4.0V).
It is difficult to take a pull – Check for residual oil around the magnetic connector. This could block airflow, making it difficult to get a strong rip. Also, make sure the magnetic connector is securely fastened and getting the power. Oil and Wax are sticky, and while you are vaping, the vapors slowly leave behind tiny particles that ultimately build up and block the vapor pathway. You may and to pull and heat the coil for some moments to loosen things up and get the air pathway open, that is not uncommon with wax and oil cartridges.
The wax atomizer stopped working – When using pre-filled cartridges, the atomizer is sealed inside the cartridge and usually lasts the life of the cartridge. However, wax atomizers are used each time you load a dab but also have a limited shelf life. If your wax atomizer weakens or stops working completely, it is time to replace it. Also, if it starts tasting funky from too much residue, it is a good idea to change the atomizer. These typically last a month or two under normal use.
The SteamCloud Mini 2.0 will not charge – If the SteamCloud is not giving you the power it usually does, or stops working altogether, it is probably time for a charge. The SteamCloud Mini 2.0 can vape about ¼ gram of oil before needing a charge. To charge this vape, simply follow the charging instructions above. If it does not charge right away, nine times out of ten, this is due to a poor connection. Check to make sure both ends of the USB cable are connected properly. Otherwise, the USB cables go out occasionally, so try another micro-USB cable. These are used for many devices including cell phones, so you are sure to have one lying around. If you have had the SteamCloud Mini 2.0 for a long time and it is still not working after trying it with a new cartridge, the battery might be dead.
Leave the SteamCloud Mini 2.0 upright when loaded with an oil cartridge – oil vape cartridges work best when the oil sits at the bottom of the cartridge. If you leave a cartridge on its side, it will not deliver as good of results and could even clog the mouthpiece.
Bring a charger for long trips – a micro-USB cable is easy to bring along and if you have an Android phone, you may already have a car charger. Since the SteamCloud Mini 2.0 does not have a battery indicator, it is always a good idea to have a charger if you are away from home.
Change the wax atomizer when the taste degrades - If residue builds up on the wax atomizer, it can affect the flavor of the wax quite a bit. This happens quicker with lower quality waxes. If you prefer vaping a few different waxes, it may be a good idea to get a separate atomizer for each one.
The SteamCloud Mini 2.0 is more expensive than most simple vape batteries like the Stylus vape pen. However, it provides a lot more value. First, the cartridges slide inside the battery, making it ultra-compact and discreet. The Stylus is still compact, but it is significantly longer than the SteamCloud Mini 2.0. Secondly, this battery easily sits upright, keeping your oil in the bottom of the cartridge. This is pretty difficult with the Stylus vape pen. In addition, the magnetic connections make switching cartridges easier than ever and you will never have to worry about stripping the threads on your cartridge or battery. Finally, the SteamCloud Mini 2.0 has variable voltage settings, giving you more control over the temperature and thickness of your vapor. The Stylus heats as you vape, still providing good vapor but there is less user control.
